[Molly's sitting at a table, covered with purple-red cloth, with a stack of cards in front of him and his swords resting against the edge of the table. Writing is complicated, and this 'recording' thing is so handy.
Anyway-
He claps his hands and gives a little theatrical bow, long hair falling on his shoulders, and little trinkets on his horns giving a little jingle-]
Mollymauk Tealeaf, at your service. It couldn't pass me by that the atmosphere, aside from the gatherings to eat and be merry, is a bit down. So I'm here to cheer you up!
It's simple- a story for a story!
You give me the most interesting or outrageous fact about yourself, and in return, get a free reading of your luck for tomorrow!
Sounds like a fair trade to me, hmm?
I prefer doing this in person, but this will have to do- I learned it can reach a lot of people a lot faster~

[ "Born" is a bit of a stretch, but. It's the only thing he can think of to say, and he was curious about Molly's readings. It makes him anxious to even confess that fact about himself, like he's done something wrong by doing it, but in a place like this, it's probably fine? ]
I don't know if that's- interesting enough, but. If you'd like I can think of something else?

bowsmile, and picks up the deck-]Well, well- it IS interesting! Trust me~ If you elaborate more on it, it would be even better!
[He expertly shuffles the cards and fans them out on the table-]
Take your pick!

[ He chooses a card at random, hoping it's obvious which one he means through the recording. ...Sigma is a perceptive man, and while he notices a slight reaction from Molly after he confesses his secret, it's fast enough that he isn't sure if it's just his imagination.
Still... the thought that maybe he's being judged makes his stomach drop a little... ]
There's not much to say, really. Three years ago, I woke up in a desert with a nothing but a train ticket, and no past to speak of.
[ There's a reason he knows it wasn't a case of simple amnesia, but he's not quite ready to talk about the Book. ]

[He picks the card pointed out (or one he thinks the guy pointed out), and gathers the others.
What the guy says makes his eyebrows raise in surprise- genuine surprise that covers up a tinge of shock at just how similar the situation is to his own.]
Well, that's so peculiar! Ever tried to look for your past? [He flips the card, showing a traveling coach with people around it, and no, it doesn't look like a normal tarot card-] Because the card shows you really want to either start looking or continue to do so.

[ For someone who'd simply wanted a reading out of mere curiosity, Sigma seems to be rather invested in Molly's words. But... he doesn't have a past. A man like him, who'd been created by an ability, written quite literally into existence out of nothing at all... he's always longed to have the those things - a past, a family, a home, but he knows they don't exist.
Because before three years ago, he didn't exist. That's what should be the case, but... can he really be sure? Just because Dostoevsky told him?]
I don't... [ He hesitates, clearly conflicted, but wanting to know more. ] I don't think that's possible for me. I was being quite literal, you know. It's not like I don't have any memories... before three years ago, I wasn't alive at all.
[ Shifting uncomfortably, he seems like he doesn't want to elaborate. Even confessing this much to someone is a terrifying thing. ]

He idly plays with the card he pulled out, twirling it between his fingers-]
I have a wizard friend back home, and if I learned anything from him is that you can't get something out of nothing. There always has to be, how do they call it, a component? A trigger?
Especially with living, breathing people. Sure someone made it happen so you have a blank slate to work with, but I don't think you just poofed into existence.
But that's what I personally believe. I could be very wrong too.

...But what was written on Sigma's page? Is it possible that he existed in some form, before being made? He isn't sure if he agrees with Molly on that, but it's not like he has any way to know...
He wonders if Molly would tell him to seek out the Book, if he asked him. That thought makes him feel a little bit ill.
Still, ever-professional, Sigma collects himself, and with a voice that he hopes no longer betrays his emotion, he says- ]
Thank you. That's... a very interesting perspective. I think it was good for me to hear it.

And he'd probably suggest going to take a look at whatever this Book is if he wanted some concrete answers. It's just a book, right?]
You're welcome, my friend. Always happy to help. [And even if he notes the wavering his voice, he doesn't comment on it. He learned to have tact in some scenarios.]
When we meet up, I'll tell you my story- it's one hell of a ride!
no subject
I'll hold you to that! [ Somewhat more confident now, Sigma smiles - and he's a little happy to hear that Molly would like to meet up with him in the future. He can't help but be curious about what tales the tiefling has to share. ]
I'll look forward to seeing you. Well, thank you again.
