If you could make one wish for this new year, what would it be? What is your life missing?

I will go first since I'm asking such personal questions.

I want a permanent home, a full, happy marriage and a long, long period of peace. I want it to be so peaceful that one day I admit I'm bored. That's when I will go on another adventure to fight a monster or find a rare treasure. There will always be troublesome spirits roaming about and considering my position...

What I'm missing... I guess I wish that everyone gets what they want. But I made a ton of New Year's wishes! I couldn't just pick one!

I hope all of your wishes are fulfilled, little friend. Are there any I can help you with?

Hm... I dunno! I made a bunch of wishes. Some of them are really big, like everyone beating the Darkness and fixing the world, and some of them are smaller, like making a lot of friends.

I like to think I am helping you with both of those already. I am ready to defend this world against the Darkness and we are friends.

Of course! It's important if you wanna make everyone around you happy. And there's so many things people here need.

My mother was like that. She would cook for everyone even though she wasn't very good.

I think it happened because we didn't have the heart to tell her it was bad.

Huh, I guess so... I wouldn't wanna tell someone they sucked, either. Especially when they're working hard.

She was so excited to feed us. It was sweet and I would've eaten anything just to make her happy.

I'm sure you're better at it than I am. You know I made meatballs one time that could be used as weapons? I guess that is a feat.

Really? Like you used them in a catapult? That sounds pretty hard, so I guess it is a feat, even if you don't wanna eat it.

They could actually be flung at someone and cause considerable damage. Those who ate them were quite sick. I wouldn't recommend it.

Me too! I used to be scared to even chop a vegetable, but now I cook all the time! I don't wanna live on just convenience store food, especially since I'm taking care of Mary-chan and the Pokémon too.

I just want to live comfortably. Which? So far, so good.

Sure, my writing time gets interrupted sometimes, but I can't complain about the method.

A good choice. Peace is the foundation of all other happiness. It's an important wish, and one I share with you.

I want to contribute to that end as much as I can this year, too.

That's a kind offer, but I do enjoy domestic peace and happiness here. My concern lies with with overall situation.
