video ❥ un: Inaban
[ On the screen is a rather strangely energetic Inaba Himeko, but if anybody pays real close attention, they might notice both how red her eyes are and the bags under them as well.
The post is thrown up during the early afternoon, something made rather obvious with her greeting. ]
Gooooood afternoon, Ellipsa! It is I, your local streamer across the screen, Inaba!
[ Clapping sound effects can be heard in the background. ]
Now, today we're going to take a deep dive into the "meme zone" as we do a deep dive on what kids have been calling the "new big thing" that's been taking social media by storm, and that is the new hit online series, Dippiti WC!
The "WC" seems to be short for 'water closet', or 'bathroom'. And the series itself seems to follow a toilet with a human head who has joined the army in his fellow water closet to fight against the evil humanoid tech devices, known as Technoloids. Apparently, this series has created a lot of controversy amongst parents, but also a lot of new slang words that everyone has been using and I'm here to break it all down for you all!
So if you have questions about the show for those who have been following along for the ride, feel free to ask and you'll get an answer! There's no stone left unturned here at--
[ In the midst of those last words, the words just stop and it's easy to see what happens next as your local streamer, Inaba Himeko collapses while live.
That's probably fine, right? ]
[ OOC: As a heads up: while it might take a bit for her to get back to being Physically Conscious Again, she will respond to people who do want to know about about "Dippiti WC", which is knock-off Ellipsa version of Skibbidi Toilet; feel free to come up with episodes that your characters may have seen or w/e, I'm here for people to go nuts. ICly, responses will occur 10 minutes after.
(i'm also very sorry.) ]

[ And the exhaustion makes her drop her fake cheer. ]

I mean, there's touch energy, how people just go out and talk to each other, the fact that we get all this cool magic and can learn how to use it, and everyone else has such amazing powers from really cool worlds, and we're here saving the world... But you don't think any of that stuff is exciting.
[She doesn't even think she's real.]

It's messed up.
[ There's no elaboration at first, as she tries to collect her thoughts- ]
In a way, it's unfair. Just because we're not from this world, we have to do something that the locals don't simply for surival...? Sure, I get it - no man is an island. I don't necessarily mind interacting with people from other worlds.
But... I've been burned way too many times by this one.

Burned? By touching other people? Or having to go out and make friends?

If someone was always constantly happy and never stopped being happy... that sort of life would be dull. But - no, I wasn't cursed or anything like that.

I'd rather go back home. I have many important people back there.

And that's the kicker, isn't it - when people do go back, they don't retain their memories. Who's to say that isn't the case now? Anyway, you can do whatever the hell y ou want. What you do doesn't really matter to me.

[It's true. Everything important to Rinku is anathema to Inaba. Sunny optimism, the assurance that it'll all work out. Reaching out to everyone, loving all who cross her path. Awestruck adoration of magic and the supernatural, of everything new and exciting. Ellipsa. Getting attached to it and its people and its ways and its fate.
Rinku will never, ever turn out like Inaba. She swears it on her life with every bit of fear and conviction in her heart.
But still -- still, Inaba is important for herself. As herself. Rinku's fighting for that, too.]
...It's for you too, Inaba-chan. When we save the world, I promise, you're gonna be able to go back again. And I bet you'll be able to be happy.

[ There's an exhausted note to the way she answers, but it's one that hides a lot; of course, she doesn't dare say that publicly. ]

[And a lot more will happen after this.]
But I'm sure of it, Inaba-chan. If we don't have hope, what do we have?
